Katie Bircher has been dancing since childhood. In addition to raqs sharqi, American Tribal Style, and tribal fusion belly dance, she has an extensive background in ballet and modern dance, and holds a BA in dance studies. Her style is characterized by balletic lines and strong musicality.

Prior to moving to Boston, she studied and performed in Northern California for five years as a member of the raqs sharqi troupe Ya Habibi Dance Ensemble, and was a founding member of Tribalesque Belly Dance Fusion. Katie has been a regularly performing member of Vadalna Tribal Dance Company in Boston since 2008.
